Are you a FEVER RAY?

with dj John Fucking Cartwright/Lyddle Jean

No- not your Diva Vs. Diva themes of yesterdrag but Dragfuture with the question:

What would happen if Fever Ray and Robyn sat down for some Fika? Rather more like- what if Fever Ray and Robyn met a rave in the woods- danced all night and then made a drag show about it.

All songs will be from the artists' new albums!

Go BANG! 10 Year Anniversary! Elaine & Robin! Stanley! Residents

San Francisco has a diverse disco scene that often crosses over but not often enough! The goal of Go BANG! is to bring the crews and their devoted dancers together in a mixed, diverse, exciting environment, with a nod to the diversity and freedom of the 70's/80's San Francisco/New York/Chicago disco nightlife!

We have been lucky to do so - for our friends - every 1st Saturday for the past 10 Years!

We are proud to call THE STUD our home!

Disco freaks, art school boys & girls, drag queens & kings, boogie-heads, fierce dancers, flashy dressers, sexy girls, hot boys, DJs, dancers, photographers, artists, fashionistas; gay/straight/bi/tri/whateva! Bring your flashiest, trashiest, classiest, sexiest, craziest style; but bring an open mind, big smile, and shoes that will allow you to dance from opening to last call!

Acid Test SF: Traxx

There couldn’t be a more suitable guest than Traxx, as he is notorious for taking risks, not following rules but also for staying loyal to his beliefs, narrative and perspective and voicing them.
Known for his unique traveling through experimentation and genderless style, his aliases as Traxx, Dirty Criminals, XX Art, Mysterio, ViLLan X, Saturn V (with Tadd Mullinix), X2 with (D'Marc Cantu and JTC) are highlighting within the catalogues of labels such as Gigolo, Relief, L.I.E.S., Muzique, M/O/S, and Crème. In April of 2007 Traxx created his label Nation introducing a futuristic view on traditional jacking patterns
while re-evaluating his sound and perspective of dance music being released. Traxx was never short on voicing his opinions and beliefs and shy to express his musical influences and likings. His segments are full of storytelling and bravery where he leaves no room for anyone that wants to label him but to follow his curation and realize that what they are experiencing is unique and can’t be put into a stereotypical container of style. His recent work on Rush Hour as Mutant Beat Dance for the DEBUT (with Beau Wanzer and Steve Summers)
is a moment of true artistry for its representation in an album booklet consisting of six records in three different formats and its inclusion of a variety of genres that reflects to the band's statement on open mindedness.

Also featuring selections from our guest Matthew Paul and residents Tyrel Williams and Alex Ohyama *

Come see the beginning of the Universe and explore the depths and farther reaches of what it means to be human. Is it the trappings of "civilization" that brings us closer to our Humanity or is it actually our struggle? Were we always doomed to corruption and vanity? will evil win the day or can we tap into our higher selves to forge on to a new tomorrow?

Dirty Looks: Eight Years on at The Stud SF

Filmmakers Mariah Garnett, Aimee Goguen, Brontez Purnell, Jill Reiter and Michael Robinson in attendance!

Dirty Looks compiles eight years of experimental screenings for a shorts program of signature delights that queer the pop cannon and (under)mine history for all of her unanswered questions. Ranging from digital drag revisionism to post-bohemian celluloid, Dirty Looks: 8 Years on reassesses the past through a fiercely queer and politicized lens, “who brought us here?” and “where are we now?” Ranging from 16mm films, super8 transfers, Hi8, HD video and Getty stock footage, this DL Cliff’s Notes screening spins circles around contemporary queer subjectivities, snarling with a punk zeal and a utopian demand for more.

Program:
Warren Sonbert + Wendy Appel, Amphetamine, 16mm, B&W, 10 min., 1966
Brontez Purnell, 100 Boyfriends Mixtape (the demo), Super 8 on video, 8min., 2017
Jill Reiter, Frenzy, Super 8 on digital video, 12min., 1993
Lila De Magalhaes, Poppers, video, 5min., 2013
Michael Robinson, Onward Lossless Follows, HD video, 17min., 2017
Chris E. Vargas, Liberaceón, SD video, 13min., 2011
Aimee Goguen, tongue job, Hi8 on SD video, 4min., 2013
Mariah Garnett, Encounters I May or May Not Have Had with Peter Berlin, 16mm, 15min., 2012
