DOM POP DISCO

  • The Stud SOMA San Francisco, CA (map)

Tea dances became a big part of queer culture in the 1950s and ’60s—safe, daytime spaces where LGBTQ+ persons could gather, dance, and be themselves at a time when doing so openly was risky and illegal. What began as a way to avoid persecution eventually turned into a joyful tradition rooted in resilience and community.

Come feel that queer joy with dom daddies, pop girlies, and disco divas when DOM POP DISCO premieres at The STUD in SF on Dore Alley Sunday, July 27 from 4–9pm. Dance through the decades and celebrate the history of tea dance music and beyond.
