Jakmel Ekspresyon Center in Jacmel, Haiti provides local artists with space and facilities in a non-discriminatory environment. The center provides skills and resources to empower self-change and entrepreneurial spirit to local and international artists. Founded after the earthquake in 2010, JE has programs for fashion design, screen printing and workshops in dance, drumming, painting drawing, mental health, computer skills, robotics, photography and theater.

Featuring Lynn Breedlove (ex-Tribe-8 frontman and founder of Homobiles the ride service) and Stephany Joy Ashley (St. James Infirmary director) on lead vocals, Fureigh (ex-The Shondes) on guitar, storied queer festival Homo A Go Go creator Ed Varga on drums, award-winning songwriter Mya Byrne on bass, and radical healer Corrie Bennett on violin.

It’s also a 3 piece band from Oakland, CA that can only agree on Britney Spears as a primary influence, though the band sounds like Nirvana doing Britney Spears covers.
